On the first weekend of June, hundreds of thousands of LGBT people and their friends travel to Orlando to take part in the annual Gay Days events. One of the most popular Gay Days events – though not one produced by Gay Days itself – is One Magical Weekend, to be held at the Walt Disney World from May 31 to June 3.

An exciting event in its own right, OMW is also a fundraiser for two HIV/AIDS charities in Florida: Broward House in Fort Lauderdale and the Hope & Help Center in Orlando.

Event donating 200 tickets to honor those who are serving and have served

Let’s Go Play, the producers of One Magical Weekend that includes RipTide at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon during GayDays®, just announced that in celebration of last year’s repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, they are donating one free ticket to the first 200 service men and women who purchase tickets. This year’s event is on June 1, 2012 from 8:00 pm – 2:00 am.

“For the second year, we are honored to pay tribute to our active, retired, and ‘unfairly discharged’ service men and women…last year was a huge success and we hope that many more of our military friends will come enjoy a night of fun along with 6,000 other men and women from around the world,” says Michael Christ with Let’s Go Play.

Premier events during Gay Orlando Weekend

January 21, 2012 – Orlando, FL – One Magical Weekend, which has presented two of the premier events during the Gay Orlando weekend returns this June with a whole new look and a new attitude.

“As you can see we have rebranded the weekend” said Terry DeCarlo, one of the One Magical Weekend organizers, “Where we used to just have our Riptide at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark event, we have now branched out to include the Sunday Drink around the World and Retro T-Dance at Disney’s EPCOT©…both were huge successes and sell-outs last year.
