MIKE CRUZ

These ARE extraordinarily challenging times. But the one aspect of society that has always flourished during uncertain times is: entertainment and the creative arts. And what people are saying they need now, more than ever before, is Mike Cruz, the indomitable jock who has used his incomparable skills in the studio and at the decks to stake a solid claim in an ever-shifting industry. Promoters should have Cruz's number on speed dial — vocalists already do…as witnessed by the industry's top singers elbowing to the front of the line for a little bit of time in Cruz's studio. But the real testament to his fame is the respect and support he commands from his fans. They thirst for his intoxicating blend of underground, steamy tribal infused grooves, and rip-roaring vocal anthems, but they also know to expect the unexpected — that's the hallmark of a Cruz set: he blends the attitude of the crowd, the trends of the industry, and a keen intuition to concoct a listening experience that is matched only by his next performance.

My sets are never one dimensional. When I'm at the decks, I'm not focused on three hours of vocals or three hours of the circuit sound. Sure, you'll get a sprinkle of both, but you also get dashes of tribal, Progressive house, pop,  — a little of everything," says Cruz. "What sets me apart is that I quickly match my mood with the mood of the audience, establish that connection, and move from first base to a home run early in the night. From there, we're in a long-term relationship.

Cruz has been cultivating that love affair for nearly 15 years as a New York-based DJ/producer who has often shunned the jock-as-media hound publicity limelight so that he can stay focused on the task at hand. The strategy has worked.

Under the toutelage of George Dellinger(MadTizzy), Cruz is now a household name in just about every major city in North America. He currently does rotations at Hydrate in Chicago  Tracks in Denver, The End Up in San Francisco, The Cuff in Seattle and Indianapolis's Talbott Street to name a few.. When he's not wracking up frequent flyer miles on the Continent, he's jetting off to some of the hottest party locales in the world. In the past couple years, Cruz has brought his unique and infectious sound to parties in Barcelona, Prague, Amsterdam, Rio & Sao Paolo, Tel Aviv, Sydney,Hong Kong, Beijing and Mexico City.

In a year, Cruz does more travel than even the most cosmopolitan people do in a lifetime. So, it's a wonder that he has time for anything else, much less for launching a new record label (CruZonik Music), chart umpteen Number One Billboard hits, produce original music for a series of compilation discs, and spend time in the studio turning diva voice tracks into mind-numbing dance tracks. Lucky for us, he finds the time.

SHANE STIEL

Listen on Soundcloud

If you’ve ever heard DJ Shane Stiel spin, you’re immediately convinced this guy was born to DJ. From the all-night events of the Rocky Mountains in his early years to the high-energy club events of the West Coast, this DJ turned Navy veteran turned DJ is making one indelible impression on the club scene and shows no signs of slowing down.

A Colorado native whose musical roots were fueled by hip-hop, 80s, rock and house, Shane found inspiration in artists like Seb Fontaine and Judge Jules. In the late 90′s, his DJ career kicked-off when he scored his first gig with ColoradoRave.com during one of their popular festival events. One night was enough to convince not only the crowd, but festival promoters, that he was ready for more and shortly after he became the company’s top resident. After leaving ColoradoRave, he continued to work closely with friend and party promoter Ryan Dykstra. Dykstra’s successful long-running night at Club Pure gave Shane a chance to meet and befriend several well-known DJ/producers like Kimball Collins, George Acosta, Guy Ornadel, and Jon Bishop, to name a few.

Years of hard work and determination later, Shane landed some well-deserved time alongside several major global headliners. His big break came in 1999 when he played alongside George Acosta, officially solidifying his name in the Denver nightlife scene. Shane quickly became a regular fixture in the DJ booths at Denver nightclub’s Traxx 2000 and Club Matrixx, earning praise and respect as one of Colorado’s top DJs. Big names like Tiesto, The Crystal Method, Deep Dish and Digital Assassins were taking note which helped him secure coveted opening spots, working with them at events.

A decade later, Shane has risen through the ranks to become not just an international DJ, having headlined major events in the US, Canada, and Australia, he’s become a brand. In 2012, he launched HAUS of STIEL, a hybrid DJ/production/promotion company fusing his signature sound & style with a visual performance element that his throngs of fans – known as HAUS HEDZ – have adopted as a “persona” of sorts when attending his events. Shane continues his DJ domination with residencies at clubs in Chicago, Atlanta, San Francisco, and San Diego, headlining signature club events all over the world, producing his own regular podcast, and developing new music projects.

JB Burgos, originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, moved to Orlando, Florida in 1989. As a child JB always loved music, dancing and playing his sister's records or cassette tapes. In high school JB provided music for the cheerleading squad to use during there routines and competitions. His parents bought him his first set of turntables and a mixer as a graduation present. JB was influenced by the rave scene which was exploding in Orlando during the mid to late 90's. This started his love for house music and trance. JB started to hit the local record shops throughout central Florida weekly to keep current with the latest and hottest dance songs. With plenty of practice, JB learned to blend records together to keep a seamless sound and started to hand out mix tapes to all of his friends and coworkers. Within a few months JB and friends would throw house parties where he started to DJ live and really loved the feeling of seeing people's reactions to his song selections. JB made friends with local promoters and nightclub owners in Orlando, sharing his mix tapes with hopes of being booked to DJ at their events or clubs. Doing plenty of networking, JB got his big break when one of his mix tapes was played at a house party which happened to be thrown by a club owner. The very next day JB received a phone call from the bar manager and was booked to spin. Since 2003 JB has been spinning throughout central Florida for the LGBT community at special events and holding residencies at local bars. Throughout his career JB has opened for some of the most popular DJ's in the circuit as well as headlining Pride events. JB still shares his mixes online for his friends and fans and now enjoys video DJ'ing as well.
